Baked potatoes - potato recipe that is good for everyone

No family in Ukraine can live without potato dishes. Vegetarians and meat-eaters, adults and young people - everyone loves to eat potatoes. The choice of cooking methods affects the taste and properties of our wonderful potatoes. One of the healthiest ways to cook potatoes is baked potatoes.

After all, potatoes baked in the oven retain nutrients and vitamins in sufficient quantities for effective, healthy human nutrition.

Approximately, 20-25% of the weight of potato tubers are carbohydrates (starch), about 2% are proteins and 0.3% are fat. Potato protein is rich in various amino acids and belongs to complete proteins.

Each potato contains a lot of potassium (568 mg per 100 g of wet weight), phosphorus (50 mg), a significant amount of magnesium, calcium and iron.

Peel raw potatoes. Baked potatoes according to this recipe are best obtained from medium-sized, approximately identical tubers. We cut small potatoes into two parts. We do this so that all the potatoes are baked in the oven simultaneously.

Recipe for baked potatoes on a baking tray

Pour a little of olive or sunflower oil into the baking sheet, put chopped potatoes on top. Sprinkle with generous amount of salt on top. It has been noticed that baked potatoes are tastier with unrefined sea or regular salt. In addition, unrefined salt is another ingredient that makes baked potatoes a healthy dish.

We also crush the potatoes with seasoning of mild red pepper (paprika). This will add a special taste to the baked potatoes, as well as a particularly attractive ruddy, appetizing appearance.

Toss the potatoes on a baking sheet so that the oil, salt and seasoning are evenly distributed throughout the potatoes.

Baked potatoes are cooked in the oven for 25-30 minutes at the temperature of 200-250 C. Of course, the cooking time may vary slightly depending on the variety and size of the potato. New potatoes bake faster. During baking in the oven, the potatoes need to be stirred a couple of times for even browning.

  • 1 kg. of potatoes;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • seasoning of mild red pepper;
  • olive or sunflower oil;
  • salt;

When our fragrant and tasty baked potatoes become soft, we take them out of the oven. Put on a dish, sprinkle with finely chopped garlic and decorate with herbs. You can also use dried dill.
