Characteristics of the Arizona potato variety
The Arizona Seed Potato is a mid-early table variety of Dutch selection. Arizona produces extremely high yields of large, uniform tubers and impresses with the great taste of real potato from childhood. You can get a crop for 70-80 days after germination. The yield of Arizona reaches up to 80 tons per hectare.
In the Zhytomyr region, the crop was harvested on July 20. This is 14 days later than the recognized standard of ultra-early varieties as Riviera. There were about 10-12 large tubers on the bush, each weighing 110-150 grams. In 2019 there was the record with Arizona when the weight of one tuber reached almost 2.5 kilograms..

Features of growing seed potatoes Arizona
Arizona potato variety grows on almost all types of soil and also has a high resistance to high temperatures and drought. Tubers develop even in conditions of low soil temperatures.
This variety also has a pleasant appearance when the tubers are yellow, smooth, oval and uniform in shape. The flesh is light yellow. The sprouts lie superficially. Washed Arizona is great for selling.
Arizona has strong immunity to golden potato nematode and cancer, but the originator of the variety claims sensitivity to metribuzin (Zenkor), the use of which leads to discoloration of the haulm and a decrease in yield. Our experience of using Zenkor at a rate of 0.67 l per 1 ha did not reveal any external effect on the plant.
Another advantage of the variety is its good resistance to mechanical damage. Arizona has become especially popular among potato growers precisely because of its unpretentiousness in cultivation and care, so even beginners can grow this variety. Before planting, it is recommended to warm the seeds. Arizona is sensitive to Sencor thus do not use it after emergence, this will negatively affect the weight gaining. Do not remove sprouts more than once. During the growing season, potatoes proved to be resistant to late blight of tops and tubers. But the main feature is drought resistance and rapid weight gain.
Arizona has a fairly good transportability, but is only suitable for short-term storage (up to 6 months). Given the ability to grow in stressful weather conditions, we especially recommend the Arizona variety for planting to residents of the southern, eastern and central regions of Ukraine.
