To increase resistance to the appearance of "bruises", we recommend applying potash fertilizers before flowering.

Challenger is characterized by a long dormant period and slow germination, followed by accelerated development. Before planting, potatoes are recommended to be treated with drugs against brown patch. Since the growing season is 110 days, we do not recommend planting it after June 15th. You can germinate a little to small sprouts, but this is not necessary. It is not necessary to plant in cold soil, it is better to wait for warming up to 10-12 degrees at the planting depth. To obtain large tubers , planting should not be very dense, approximately 35-40 cm in a row with a row spacing of 75 cm. Recommended treatment against Alternaria and preventive against late blight.

Challenger tolerates drought well. It is advisable to harvest at an air temperature above 25 degrees early in the morning or at night, while avoiding mechanical injury to the tubers. Too sandy soil is not the best for this variety.

The potatoes keep well. The optimum temperature for storage is 7-8 degrees with short-term but regular ventilation. It is recommended to carry out sorting and packaging of tubers at a temperature not lower than 10 degrees.
